The four boys and three girls who have been under the care of the State Ministry of Gender Child and Social Welfare transit center and two other boys were handed over to the parents.

The Gender Child and Social Welfare Minister Norma Fodul said the ministry was responsible for the children abducted by the LRA and took care of them until the Red Cross returned them to their families.

The minister said that the children had taken a year at the center.

He thanked the humanitarian organizations and the state government for the support they offered during the process.

The Child Welfare Director Justine Abere said the children were rescued from different areas and it has not been an easy task but he thanked those involved for taking good care of them and returning them in a healthy manner.

The DRC Ambassador Reneelo Metembele expressed happiness on behalf of his government for the good relationship they have in protecting the abductees and according them safe return home.
