Zain communication network controlled by Republic of South Sudan government opened in Yirol East County with area Commissioner Manyang Luk Lueth announcing that the network is currentky being tested and is working well.

There is excitement from the community as they can be able to communicate and transact business easily using their phones.

“People are very happy in the area – the network was tested on December 7 – I am going to organize the official opening of the network and [the] governor will come to declare the opening,” he said.

Luk explained that network will help both county authorities and community to communicate message related to development and send quick messages security related alerts.

Yirol East County neighbours Jonglei and Unity states which have experinced cattle raiding incidences in recent days. 

“This network will be very helpful to community and government – it will help government to communicate security issues – it will be easy to communicate security issues from Boma to Payam – the community in the area will be also easy to communicate with the world friends and relatives outside the country to get their money,” said Luk.
