Rumbek Central County is hosting the Lakes State government and business community from different parts of the world.

“Within immediately tonight, all police personnel and security organs are mandate to deal with crime, I order you to monitor area around Rumbek Central County – if anyone is found carrying gun, please deal away with him,” said Mayen

On Friday night, unknown gunman attacked a group of people in Pan-barkou
village killing one person and left two people injured – the suspects have not been arrested.

Residents and civilians have been warned not to carry firearms in areas around Rumbek Central County comprise of Makoi, Akuac, Acholthen, Madol-akoc, Mabor-ngap, and Puolcuom.

“Any civilians found moving in above mentioned areas with a firearm and that person is neither a military nor policeman – the law will be immediately applied either by force or by all means,” he said.

Lakes State eight counties had been disarmed last year and civilians require protection from government since their cattle are being raided by their opponent state pastoralists.
