Three different consecutive extra-ordinary meetings were conducted by the State Legislative Assembly, the Council of Ministers and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) Executive caucuses where they unanimously approved the downsizing of state institutions.
The ruling SPLM Executive and the Unity State Legislative Assembly caucuses resolved to decrease the number of the state institutions from 14 to 10 due to the current austerity measures.
The council has also abolished the positions of the headquarters commission and five legislative assembly advisors.
It was resolved that only 10 ministries portfolio and three advisors should remain in the executive and the legislature and only 10 chairpersons of specialized committee to remain.
The governor urged his new structured government to work hard and make a great change by delivering service to the community effectively.
The governor appreciated Leer and Guit counties for maintaining peace and security.
“We will work in collaboration with other stakeholders to deliver services to our people and we do appreciate the newly structured government,” said Simon Jalduong Matuek, the state Advisor on Service Affairs.
