Minister Adup Achieer says his ministry prepares to deliver services needed for the indigenous community on time-bound manner and with an achievable objective within shortest time possible to eradicate conflict so that the community maintain stable neighbourhood with other communities whether within South Sudan or abroad.
“We in ministry of local government and law enforcement agency in collaboration with Conflict Mitigation and Stabilization Initiative (CMSI) have come up with this workshop to review our plans of conflict mitigations objectives which we set forward in 2011-2012 which was used to identify the conflict factors in NBGS and factors were made to be strategic-kind process that needs to bring about some solutions. The invitees were made aware on how to disseminate the message to the grassroots final consumers of native community in the state,” he said.
The minister further says that his ministry gets technical and financial supports from Advisory office on conflict Mitigation and stabilization Initiatives (PAE) that works under Ministry of Interior in Juba and under Joint Operation Center (JOC) to provide some technical assistance on security.
Such works are planned to happen from time to time to bring on board some challenges being encountered in different areas. Achieer who admits the fewer conflicts arising in its lower context especially on the water point conflicts and cattle theft which he says are expected to have been imitated from the neighbouring state are issues that his ministry works to bring them to end at lowest and an earlier tip possible.
The minister also discloses that the causes of such conflicts are caused by scarcity of water points both at the county levels and within the state which he hopes his works to bring them to end.
In his conclusive remarks, the minister appeals to the partners in order to partner with his ministry to help locate his ministry to a better infrastructure which asserts to be one biggest challenge as the government works under austerity measures.
He further adds that solidarity is the best option for South Sudanese and must be most united than ever so that they prove to the world that they are able to deliver.
More than 50 participants including the county police inspectors, local government inspectors, inspection officers, head clerks within the ministry directors of various ministries in the state and executive directors of counties representatives as well as within the ministry of local government and law enforcement agency attended.
