Committee Assures Safety During Celebrations

Security Chairperson Major General Henry Danima Odu announced that his committee has put everything in place and safety is guaranteed.

The leader who spoke to Gurtong earlier in the morning of the Monday 8, at Torit Police Division in Torit confirmed a joint patrol of forces comprising of army, Police, prison, wildlife and Civil Defence have been deployed to potentially insecure areas in Torit town.

He said the government joint patrol forces which have been deployed to the insecurity prone areas in Torit town will continue to be on reserve until the ongoing celebrations come to an end.

He clarified that his Sub-committee puts all the strategies in place in order to prevent public fears and protection against their properties and to secure all citizens throughout the festivities.

Major General Danima congratulated the people of South Sudan for this great Day on the second Day of Independence saying.

“I want to inform our people in EES that we in the sub-committee of security; have had all arrangements correctly and timely in place to ensure precautions have been prepared. We want to meet the expectations of our people of EES to celebrate the second Anniversary peacefully with tranquility. We are happy to inform our people that we have taken all the precautions to ensure the historic day is set peacefully celebrations,” he said.
