Governor Malong during the South Sudan Second Independence Anniversary at freedom square in Aweil said the ministries of Health and General Education and Instruction have failed to perform basic duties and adopt good education systems.

Malong threatened to deal with the administration of the two ministries should they not improve their management systems.

“There are daily complaints that hospital’s hygienic system is very poor and that the general reception and admission is also poor. I have been talking… talking and talking about these issues for years now but nothing changes,” the Governor lamented.

“I want to tell everybody or those in charge of handling these complaints to please address quickly or I intervene.”

The governor noted the disarrayed and frenzied performance of the state ministry of General Education and called for immediate change.

“Why every year that schools performances are weak? Is it because they are not taught well or there is lack of teaching equipments or students have obstacles that prevent them from adapting well? I hope not.. Leaders of these ministries, you must follow and give what is required from your ministry,” the governor cautioned.

The governor must have been prompted by the strong poems delivered by a Private Girls’ School where the pupils urged the leaders of state and national governments to transform education system and handle rampant corruption, tribalism, nepotism and other segregative cultural practices.

“Inspire us through education, help children become educated, invest in children through quality education and an equal education opportunities for all!” one of the poems reads.
