Makol Mayen, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Gurtong that the President will announce his new cabinet in the coming days.
“The President is making consultations,” Mayen said. “You can imagine government taken out from 29 ministries to 19 is a small government. So the President wants to have a time to consult then come out with the government as before,” Mayen said.
On Tuesday Kiir sacked his Vice President Dr. Riek Machar, cabinet and reduced his government to nineteen ministries.
Citizens and observers yesterday were all on monitoring the media till late night to hear the announcement of the new government.
“There is no any other exact date that we know about it,” Mayen said. “It may be three days, four, a week,” he said.
In the meantime, the Under-Secretaries in all the ministries are running the government.
