“The members of the legislative assembly were unable to have a sitting to debate some of pending motions including the passing of seven state ministers policy planning as a result of fuel shortages,” Akol said.

The sitting was not to take place fully because once the house decided to sit, there must be power, MPs should first receive the motion in copies so that they can pass through it for a period of 24 hours before conducting a debate but if there is no power to photo copy these papers which should be first given to each for reading, how will the house host any sitting?,” Akol asked?

The assembly suspended sittings last week but the assembly has received funds from the governor’s office to enable resumption of normal sittings, according to Akol.

“As a one united assembly in the state, we do agree together, now we need all these newly appointed ministers to bring forward their work policy plans for assembly approval,” he said.

He said the duty is to make laws and to make sure that laws are implemented, and to ensure ministers’ work plans are in line with the state government policy to serve communities.

“We have only last week received one minister’s policy work plan from the ministry of Finance Economic Trade and Industry,” he said while warning that all the ministries should do the same.

Akol said the assembly members are now ready to have a sitting on each state ministry financial report including audit reports.

Acting speaker acknowledged that the report from Ministry in Infrastructure and Urban Development is now before MPs for debate this week.

He said Ministry of Fisheries and Animal Recourse and Ministry of Education will be the next to come forward with their reports.
