The Commissioner of Pochalla County has said that Zhunghou Company which was contracted by UNOPS cleared only 28 kilometers from side of Pochalla County and suspended the work because of rebel activities there.

Joseph Okello Wello said all company equipment is left in Pochalla county headquarters and the construction is to resume December this year.

He said Zhungou Was instructed to clear the road and the other company in Akobo was to deal with construction of a bridge in Akobo.

Okello urges the companies to speed up with project so that people may get access to services, since Akobo County has river transport connecting to Malakal and several towns in the country.

The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General to South Sudan (DSRSG) and also head of United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Toby Lanzer in a recent press conference said the road when completed will connect the two counties of Pochalla and Akobo as well as the other state capitals.
