The football tourney that commenced in Juba culminated into the finals in Western Bahr el Ghazal State.
Western Equatoria State Governor Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro who welcomed the team at the Freedom Square praised the team for its discipline that saw it perform well at the tournament.
He commended Villa United for displaying unity, saying it was a replica of the prevailing peace and unity in the state.
Governor Bakosoro commended the team for emerging tops, adding that the victory has encouraged many supporters in the state.
He at the same time appealed to clubs in the state to fortify their game and match the standards of Villa United, who have come out as role models.
“I also take this opportunity to warn football clubs that tribalise their teams to desist from such as it dents ourimage as a cohesive state. I also encourage the youth to engage in sports instead of politicking as their time will come”, said Governor Bakosoro.
The Governor commended the State Minister of Finance for the immense financial support to the team.
