Addressing journalists in Juba, the Secretary General of the Committee of the SSCSA, Keluel Agok expressed the alliance disappointments in the delay and called for a quick resumption of the talks.
The South Sudan Civil Society Alliance said that the continuous violations of the six peace agreement signed between the two parties in the talks in January 2 2014 are hindering the peace process.
The alliance said that the two warring parties have also violated the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement Signed on January 23rd 2014 in regards to the time framework of the completion of the talks.
The Alliance appreciated the consistent support by the International Community to achieve sustainable peace in South Sudan.
“The possible solution to this devastating conflict is a peaceful settlement through dialogue between the two warring parties with support of other stakeholders” said the SSCSA
The Alliance urge the warring parties to recommit themselves to bringing sustainable peace and called upon the people of South Sudan to encourage the warring parties to accept the ongoing peace process as a vital solution to ending the conflict in the country.
