A clash between the Dinka Ngok and Arab Messeriya militia on Monday at Nyiel Village bordering Warrap State over cattle has left 19 people dead from both sides.

ABYEI 26 May 2015 [Gurtong]- Deng Ali, Alah County Executive Director said that 12 of the dead have been identified to be from the Arab Messeriya and 7 from the Dinka Ngok community adding that the attacks were carried out by the Arab Messeriya in Nyiel and Mayom villages in Alah County.

"The information that has just reached me was that, Arab militia attacked two villages where the first attack was at Mayom village and others came at Nyiel village in the morning where the clash happened" Ali explained.

The number of those injured has not yet been known.

“Until now we don’t have the real number of wounded people from Dinka Ngok on the ground because the area has no telephone network” said the County Executive Director.

This morning it was reported that three cattle camps were raided by the Arab messeriya.
