Rumbek July 13, 2015 (Gurtong) – The Speaker of Lakes State Legislative Assembly Dhieu Wal Takping has called upon the people of Lakes State to stop revenge attacks  and urged citizens to rebuild trust in the government.

Dhieu has called upon the youth and politicians to restore trust of their communities and work closely with government to persuade insecurity to safeguard the abandoned people in the society.

Speaker Dhieu described the revenge attitude as a seatback to stability of the State.

He noted that development of the State has been halted due to none cooperation between the host community with government.

He has urged tradition leaders and youth leaders including officials to cooperate for the sake of peace and reconciliation.

“This revenge fighting in Lakes State has paralyzed development and hopes of orphans and windows. We need hope to be restored by reconciliation and have government cooperate with people so that insecurity is uprooted.”

Speaker Wal said that “our State is deeply in sectional conflicts which are seen as barbaric in the eyes of the people of South Sudan.”

“From Awerial to Cueibet and from Wulu to Rumbek North, why do we ruin ourselves, what do we gain from the useless sectional conflicts? Why do we finish ourselves on unreasonable grounds?” said Wal.

“My message to you all is you refrain from killing yourselves, from looting your resources, from cattle rustling, from all kinds of negative things you are engaged in.”
