UNHCR Donates Vehicle And Computers To RRC In Jonglei

BOR, November 18, 2015 [Gurtong] – UNHCR officer in Bor, Hamenyimana Benoite said the donation comes as a result of a formal request made to them, by the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission office in Jonglei State

“RRC Jonglei needs it office equipped to become operational after what happen. Definitely, UNHCR decided to look around and find some material that can be given to RRC office in Jonglei,” Benoit said.

The UNHCR donation included a Land Cruiser vehicle [4 by 4], four computers and two printers, to get them operational.  The UNHCR officer said more items to support the relief and rehabilitation commission will be coming soon as they are finalizing bidding processes.

The office of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission was vandalized and looted, during the conflict that erupted in December 2013 in South Sudan.  

RRC’s Director in Jonglei State, Mose Bul Deng appreciated the donation his office received from UNHCR.

“UNHCR has recovered what we had lost during the conflict. With these assistance, we shall be able to carry out all our activities in all fields and coordinate with the humanitarian agencies who are working with us here in Jonglei State,” Bul Deng Said.

 Mr. Bul acknowledged that, it is not the first time for RRC to receive assistance from UNHCR.
He said, UNHCR has been supporting the returnees who have come back from other countries where they fled during the war.
