The Governor of Wau State, Elias Waya has warned all organised forces in the State against demanding for money from UN agencies trying to accesses areas that are most vulnerable to conduct their operations.

WAU, 27 January 2016 [Gurtong]- During a meeting with the UN State coordinator Winie Bibahuga on Tuesday, on challenges facing the agencies the Governor assured the UN official that their convoys will have a free pass to their areas of operation.

He also said that the government will provide its full support to the UN agencies and provide security during their operations in the State.

He however, urged the UN coordinator to work hand in hand with the government in order to receive the much needed support they require.

“These unauthorized collections of money from the UN convoys must stop. The deputy will see to it that such a thing is not repeated. Any force that demands for money from a vehicle of the United Nations that is passing, we will not tolerate. So this is a promise from me and it is not going to happen again.”
