New Delhi: By imposing Section 144, Delhi Police has banned the gathering of five or more people at JP Park where Anna Hazare is about to hold the protest fast.

Earlier also the Police had denied permission to Hazare and his supporters to go on fast on Tuesday as they had not agreed to certain conditions.

Joint Commissioner of Police, Sudhir Yadav has declared that if team Hazare went ahead at the JP Park in the heart of the city, it would be deemed as an unlawful gathering.

"We have denied them permission," Yadav added. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has indeed asked people not to resort to hunger strikes in their campaign against corruption.
