Delhi High Court blast accused remanded in NIA custody

On Thursday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) brought one of the three suspects to court for the Delhi High Court blast on September 7. The suspect was remanded till Oct 5.

Abid Hussain was produced in the court of District and Sessions Judge, HS Sharma. Hussain was brought here on Wednesday on transit remand by the NIA team from Jammu and Kashmir.

The team of National Investigation Agency carried out custodial interrogation of Hussain, saying they had to uncover the whole plan which led to the blast in HC on September 7.

The judge, HS Sharma, asked everybody there in the courtroom to leave the premises before the beginning of the hearing of case. "Only those persons will stand in the court whom I will allow. Please vacate the court," the judge said.

According to the sources, Hussain studies in Islamia Faridia Higher Secondary School at Kishtwar. He was booked for criminal plan as well as his alleged role in sending the terror email from Jammu and Kashmir which claimed the responsibility for the blast in the Delhi High Court on September 7.

The email sent by Hussain was presented in the court as evidence. “We own responsibility of the blast at the High Court, Delhi. Our demand is that Afzal Guru’s death sentence should be repealed immediately as we would target major High Courts and the Supreme Court of India.”
