SM Krishna, the External Affair Minister held a meeting with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. He conveyed to the US that countries with a “determined position to fight terror” cannot decide on their own to deal with the terror threats alone. Mr SM Krishna said India will be fighting the scourge together “across the board.”
SM Krishna termed the meeting as “very good and constructive.”
“I made out the point that it is necessary for all those countries which have taken the determined position to fight terror will have to act together and fight it across the board without being selective in our approach,” he also added that “Secretary Clinton agreed with us.”
These two leaders met last time in New Delhi, in July. This was the second Indo-US strategic dialogue.
This meeting took place under the shadow of increased violence in Afghanistan. The violence includes the brutal killing of Burhanuddin Rabbani, former Afghan President. Rabbani was heading the peace and reconciliation council of his country.
India is highly worried about the growth of attacks planned by Haqaani network in certain areas of Afghanistan.
India is investing huge amount in Afghanistan and this is most likely that it will flag its concerns to the US.
