Cricket legend and chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan Friday declared to make public all his assets within a week time and asked the politicians of the country to follow the suit.
Addressing a press conference and later a big public rally at Jhagra in the outskirts of Peshawar Friday afternoon, the PTI chief said the country was sinking deep and it was high time that every sane citizen should come forward to play its active role in the politics and save the motherland by ridding country of the corrupt and inefficient rulers and the politicians. “I stress upon the people to join hands in making the country prosperous and developed and the youngsters should register themselves in electoral rolls so that they could able to exercise their voting right”.
He said he was introducing a new trend in politics of the country by making details of his as well as other party leader’s assets public. “Within a week I will address a press conference where in I will make public all my assets, how I earned my money and how much tax I paid”. Imran told a large group of media men.
He urged all the politicians to declare all their assets because country could not prosper unless its people properly document their assets and pay taxes adding it has been also demanded by PTI leadership that tickets for electoral contests will be given only to those candidates who have submitted details of their assets with the party.
