BJP has received the Supreme Court’s judgment with utmost respect and has declared that they agree with the court’s decision that government officers must respond within a duration of three months at the time of application in order to get permission to prosecute government authorities.

Balbir Punj, BJP’s senior leader declared today in the morning that the Supreme Court’s judgment is a slap on the face of the current government under the supervision of Manmohan Singh. Another of BJP’s respectable member, Ravi Shankar Prasad, the spokesperson of the party as well, is also stated to have agreed with the decision of the court and has requested the Prime Minister to withdraw lesson from the verdict. He went on to say, “Today’s [Tuesday’s] verdict is a severe indictment of the UPA government, particularly the functioning of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The application seeking prosecution of the then Telecom Minister, A. Raja, was kept pending for 16 months.”

Where the members of BJP kept highlighting the event as an indication for prime minister to sway for prosecution of the 2G case, the followers to the current government kept on insisting that it was a vindication for Manmohan Singh.

BJP also marked the court’s statement as the ‘second indictment’ of Manmohan Singh and the government since the embarrassing failure of appointing PJ Thomas as the Central Vigilance Commissioner.
