Submitting his resignation to the chairperson of the Senate Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari, Raisani also resigned from the membership of the party. He said that he could no longer take the detached behavior of the PPP towards his brothers of Balochistan who are suffering every now and then and the government does not move an inch to do anything about it. He said that the government has clearly failed in tracing the missing persons from the province and put an end to the target killings in the region. The resignation he submitted to the chairperson of the Senate consisted of one page which mentioned these arguments against the government.

He said, “The reason for this resignation is my disillusionment with the present PPP leadership.”

One of the close allies of Raisani commented on his resignation and said that he was disappointed with PPP over failing to address the issues of the province and mentioned that for the same reason he had resigned from the leadership of PPP in Balcohistan the previous year and now this.
