The upcoming presidential elections are increasingly becoming controversial as the opposition parties pledge to aggressively protest against the changed schedule. Opposition leader in the National Assembly is also upset by the ruling party for reaching out to MQM for its support during the elections.
Recent change of events has infuriated the outgoing political party as it was almost certain that PML-N could never tie knots with MQM. Syed Khursheed Shah has declared that the members of PPP would boycott all the sessions of the provincial assemblies and parliament on Tuesday. He is expected to explain the decision in the National Assembly today.
Senior politicians of PPP have criticized the PML-N leadership for going back on their word. They quote Mian Nawaz Sharif labeling the MQM as a terrorist party and question him for his decision to join hands with them.
On the other hand, PML-N maintains that the government has to take decisions that are necessary for the stability of Pakistan. The leadership of PML-N claims that the decisions taken are not in the interest of PML-N but for the better future of this county.
Senator Jafar Iqbal of PML-N claims that the premier is reaching out to all the political parties and wants to look beyond personal discomfort. He said his party is interested in involving all the political parties in the electoral process. He termed the recent alliance with the MQM as the promotion of political culture in Pakistan.
