The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif visited the Kotri Ranges to witness the field firing and battle inoculation exercise of the Karachi Corps this Wednesday, according to a press release issued today by the government.  Upon his arrival, he was received by the Karachi Corps commander lieutenant general Sajjad Ghani.

These exercises were aimed at training the troops in various tactical operations by giving them a battlefield environment. The fighter aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and the armored fighting vehicles of mechanized division also participated in the live firing maneuvers to give the field training a more realistic environment. The Chief said, ‘Perpetual quest for modern techniques, seizing initiative from the enemy and mastery in battle procedures are essential for success in all kinds of military operations, whether conventional or unconventional.’ The COAS commended the standards of training of all the participating troops and also lauded their skills. He specifically commended the troop’s precision and accuracy in engaging with the targets and further added that this strenuous training along with strong ethics is the only guarantors of peace in the country. ‘Strenuous training and highest standard of preparedness in peacetime are the only guarantors of peace,’ he told.

The army chief Raheel Sharif took this opportunity to go over with the resolve of the armed forces and stressed that the army will accomplish their mission of defeating “every threat to our motherland in accordance with the expectation of the people of Pakistan”.
