The Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif this Friday laid the first foundation stone of the country’s first solar power project in the city of Bahawalpur. During the ceremony, the nation’s leader expressed that the Sino-Pak friendship is one of its kind and will continue to flourish in the future years.
He further said that the joint ventures between Pakistan and China would be beneficial for both countries. Sharif further added that the support of the residents of Bahawalpur is what made this project feasible and a possibility. He also congratulated his younger brother Shahbaz Sharif, who is the chief minister of Punjab, for serving the people day in and day out. He said the output of the solar power plant would reach 1,000 megawatts in the next two and a half years. Sharif added that 10 power projects were also being set up in Thar.
While addressing the people of Bahawalpur, the Prime Minister Sharif did not miss the chance of referring to members of the opposition who are protesting against the elections. Without taking Imran Khans name, he said that he was unaware about his party’s acquisitions and gives him an invitation to come to the Prime Minister House and discuss the problems. He said that talks are better than protesting on the streets.
