This Wednesday the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif said that the budget for the fiscal year, 2014-15 will provide the nation of Pakistan with relief. He said this while attending the ceremony of the Youth Business Loan Scheme in Islamabad.

“Dar had sleepless nights while he was preparing the budget. I’m sure good things will follow,” said the Prime Minister. The premier also added that last year, the new government had had little time to prepare the fiscal budget but still had achieved major key targets according to the budget of the outgoing fiscal year. “The glass is 90% full and it is unfair to just point out the empty space,” said the Prime Minister referring to people who criticize the government for not fulfilling their targets. “How can we have confidence in those who are unable to display results for their [respective] provinces?” said Sharif while referring to the other ruling parties of Pakistan, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf and Pakistan People’s Party. He said that if they can’t control their provinces, they should atleast let the federal government do its work.

According to APP, this Tuesday the Prime Minister had said that the main objective of the next year budget was to provide relief to the masses and increase tax base.  The government has taken some difficult decisions to facilitate people and it would have to bear the burden, he said while chairing a special Cabinet meeting at the Prime Minister Office in which federal budget 2014-15 and tax proposals were approved.
