Modi, Bachan Attend Mulayam’s Grand-Nephew’s ‘Tilak’

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi today attended the pre-wedding ceremony of SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav’s grandnephew with RJD chief Lalu Yadav’s daughter, an event which saw the most powerful political families of UP and Bihar coming together. Amitabh Bachan, a Bollywood star of India who needs no introduction was also seen at the event.

According to Press Trust of India, Modi, who reached the venue at 10.45 AM along with Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik, was received by Lalu and Mulayam at the ‘Tilak ceremony’ of Mainpuri MP Tej Pratap Yadav alias Teju with Lalu’s youngest daughter Raj Laxmi. Zee News added that  a staggering 1,00,000 invites have been sent out for the ’tilak’ ceremony of Tej Pratap Singh Yadav, Lok Sabha member from Mainpuri, who will marry Raj Laxmi, the youngest daughter of former Bihar chief ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, on February 26 in New Delhi.

Tej Pratap informed that there was no politics involved in the PM’s visit. “There is no politics in his visit. He was extended an invitation. We are grateful to him for visiting us and give his blessings. The opposition to him is issue based and not the personal,” he said. The PM left after 45 minutes whereas a happy Lalu said, “I am happy that my daughter`s marriage is a much talked about affair in the entire country. Mulayam Singh has not demanded single paisa (dowry) for the marriage as our hearts have met.”
