Newman repeated before the Governor with his hand on Bible and took vows to protect and work in the best interest of the state. Alongside new premier, Tim Nicholas of LPN was appointed as the treasurer of the state and Jeff Seeney got appointed as the Secretary of the Premier. The three new appointees are to assume multiple roles in the cabinet until the entire cabinet swears in.

Speaking at the occasion, Newman said, “I assure your excellency that as ministers of the state we will fulfill the duties of our appointed offices and more importantly we will seek to exemplify the qualities expected of people in such offices. Furthermore the priorities of my government will be to achieve a four per cent unemployment target, reduce the cost of living for families and to restructure government to give clear accountability.”
