The Australian Defence Force (ADF) continues to support disaster response efforts to help the people of Vanuatu following Cyclone Pam.

Two Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) C-17A Globemaster III aircraft have transported an ADF Reconnaissance Team to Port Villa along with personnel from the Department of Foreign Affairs and non-government organisations under Operation PACIFIC ASSIST 2015.

Two AP-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft are operating from Honiara in the Solomon Islands, providing post-disaster imagery reconnaissance flights for the governments of Vanuatu and Solomon Islands.

The New Zealand Defence Force and military aircraft from other countries are also providing airlift and aerial damage assessment support to Vanuatu.

The Australian Government is poised to respond to further requests for aid once reconnaissance teams have completed their tasks and are ready to make recommendations to emergency authorities.

The ADF also stands ready to respond to additional requests for assistance.
