David CameronU.K. Prime minister, David Cameron will announce the plans to introduce new measures for bringing the improvement to the NHS care standards in connection to the last year’s NHS reforms on Friday.

Mr. Cameron has highlighted a new “friends and family” test that will be introduced to every hospital in England from in April with the intention to extend it to GP surgeries, district nursing and community hospitals later. The extra ward rounds will also be introduced to raise the healthcare standards.

The “friends and family” test, which has already been announced, involves all hospital patients being asked a single question whether they would recommend the place they were treated in and the quality of care they have received at all the levels.

This test will serve as the “flashing light” to alert hospitals in case fewer patients will respond positively.

Mr. Cameron will say: “The test is a simple measure but crucially will show whether there is a basic standard of dignity, cleanliness and respect.”

He will add: “We still have a long way to go to raise standards across the NHS and get rid of those cases of poor and completely unacceptable care that blight some hospitals and homes.”

New measures will also include proper training and development opportunities for health care assistants to progress through to fully-fledged nursing roles as part of a new £13m innovation fund.

In addition, a new vision for district nursing will be published soon so that commissioners of local services put a greater priority on their role in community care and strengthen the reliability of these services.

Director of the NHS Employers organisation, Dean Royles has welcomed the new plans and increased investment in training and development and told it to be of healthy support in the challenging environment now-a-days.
