When police went to inform the next of kin’s of 30-year-old Ashraf Amrani about his death on Friday, they found his parents, 72-year-old Hassan and 59-year-old Zohra Amrani, dead too. Ashraf was found unresponsive on a first-floor roof in Westbourne Park Road, west London, a few days after being arrested on suspicion of affray. Ashraf’s parent’s deaths are being treated as suspicious, although police say they are not looking for anyone else.

Court documents confirm that Ashraf was sentenced for seven years and two months in June 2010, when he was found guilty of rape at Southwark Crown Court. Detectives have revealed to be treating the sex offender’s death as unexplained. According to a neighbour living in the same 1960s block, Landor House, police was called to the address on Thursday. She explained that “the last time I saw the wife was on Thursday and she didn’t look happy. She looked a bit fed up and sad.”

In addition to that, the parent’s neighbor alleged that “we were walking into the estate together, I told her my mum was in Bangladesh and she said she wanted to go back to Morocco. She was a bit fed up.” It was added that “she said her husband had called her and said there was some trouble in the house. On that same night when I went home my brother told me that police had been round and they were looking for the son and opened the door. “He got the impression he was in there and not letting them in.”
