Winnipeg man James John Morris charged for the murder of Christophur Baur

On January 29th, the Winnipeg Police Service again requested the public’s assistance in locating 36-year-old Christophur BAUR, who was last seen in the area of Ellice Avenue and Wall Street during the evening of Saturday, January 3, 2015.
 
The Winnipeg Police Service had located BAUR’s vehicle, a red 2007 Toyota Yaris, in the 800 Block of Manitoba Avenue.
 
Investigation by the Missing Persons Unit led to the belief that BAUR may have been the victim of foul play and the investigation was turned over to members of the Homicide Unit.
 
On February 15th investigators located and arrested a suspect in the 800 block of Magnus Avenue.  Mr Baur’s remains were discovered at the residence.
 
It was learned that on January 3rd BAUR had attended to the accused’s residence where an altercation between the two occurred.  During the altercation, the accused armed him-self with a weapon and struck the victim, knocking him unconscious.  The victim succumbed to his injuries and the accused concealed his body at the residence.
 
James John MORRIS, 38 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Second Degree Murder for his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained in custody.
