On March 25, 2011, 71-year-old George Aker of Sussex passed away at the Moncton Hospital as the result of injuries sustained in a head-on collision on Highway 11 near Cocagne on March 18, 2011.

A 47-year-old Bathurst man, the driver of the second vehicle involved, remains in hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
