At approximately 10:20 pm last evening, members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Colchester Detachment received a 911 call of an intoxicated 51 year-old Bible Hill man barricaded inside a residence with a weapon.

A small area was quickly cordoned off and the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and a Crisis Negotiation Team was brought in to assist. Officers from Truro Police Service, Millbrook and Indian Brook RCMP Detachments also provided assistance during this incident. RCMP officers were able to speak to the lone male located in the residence during the course of the evening.

This morning at 7:50 a.m. the RCMP Emergency Response Team entered the home and arrested the man without incident. He remains in police custody.

The investigation is continuing.
