On Tuesday April 26, 2011, members of the Toronto Police Fugitive Squad and Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Unit (R.O.P.E.), along with the assistance of the United States Marshals Service, Michigan State Police, the Department of Justice (Toronto), and the Canada Border Services Agency, attended an address in Amherstburg, Ontario, near Windsor.

At 11:20 a.m., police located and arrested Grace Elaine Pearson, 58.

She is currently wanted by the state of Michigan for:

1) Homicide-Murder-Second Degree,
2) Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death,
3) Homicide-Manslaughter with a Motor Vehicle.

It is alleged that:

– on November 10, 2010, the accused was operating her vehicle while intoxicated,

– she was driving her car the wrong way down a Detroit highway before striking another car,

– in the collision, the 42-year-old male driver of the other car was killed,

– the accused then fled to Canada

The accused is currently being held in custody at Elgin/Middlesex Detention Centre in London, Ontario, pending extradition proceedings.
