The Southern Alberta Integrated Fugitive Apprehension Unit (IFAU) has arrested a man wanted on a Canada-wide extradition warrant.

Michael Blaise JOHNSON, 34, was arrested without incident at a motel in the 4600 block of 16 Avenue N.W. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011.

He was arrested on a Canada-wide extradition warrant following a joint fraud investigation between the Los Angeles FBI and RCMP ‘E’ Division Commercial Crime. The investigation looked into frauds targeting the elderly through telemarketing scams.

JOHNSON is also wanted on several charges in Delta, B.C., including possession of child pornography.

Investigators believe JOHNSON has been in Calgary for a couple of months, but do not have any evidence to suggest he was involved in criminal activity in the area.
