On Saturday, April 23, 2011, at approximately 10: 30 p.m., the victim and a friend were walking in an isolated area near Wellington Street West and Haida Drive, when they were approached by three males. A conversation ensued and the victim became separated from her friend. The victim was then sexually assaulted by the suspect.
On Thursday, May 5, 2011, Sexual Assault Unit investigators arrested the suspect without incident at his place of employment in the Town of Aurora.
CHARGED:
• Dwight WALTERS, 27, of No Fixed Address
CHARGES:
• Sexual Assault
• Sexual Interference
• Invitation To Sexual Touching
Mr. WALTERS has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on Friday, May 6, 2011.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact police.
