Mubashar Abbasi charged with sexual assault on a Toronto sex-trade worker

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an Assault/Forcible Confinement investigation.

It is alleged that:

– on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at 1:30 a.m., a 22-year-old woman was working as a sex-trade worker in the Gerrard Street East/Jarvis Street area,

– a man approached the woman,

– the woman got into the man’s vehicle, an older model white Honda Civic,

– the man drove the woman to a downtown parking lot, where she was assaulted, threatened, and forcibly confined.

Mubashar Abbasi, 23, of Brampton, has been charged with:

1) two counts of Assault,
2) Forcible Confinement,
3) Threatening Death.

Police believe there may be other victims.
