The RCMP are continuing to search for a man who is missing after a boat sank on the St. John River in Fredericton yesterday.

At 3:40 p.m. on May 16, Fredericton Police and other emergency crews responded to the scene where a 16-foot aluminum boat with five people on board had sunk. Three of the people, two women and a man, all from the Fredericton area were rescued. Another man, 34-year-old Carter Gallagher of Kingsley, N.B. died in the accident. A fifth man, 27-year-old Roy Gallagher from St. Mary’s First Nation, remains missing.

Members of the District 2 RCMP, York-Sunbury Ground Search and Rescue, and Fredericton City Police are all participating in the search for the missing boater.
