Frantic search underway for missing 5 year old Toronto boy

The Toronto Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance locating a distraught five-year-old child seen in the Eglinton Avenue West/Braemar Avenue area.

Officers responded to an unknown trouble call at 8:40 a.m., in the Eglinton Avenue West/Braemar Avenue.

It is reported that:

− a 5 year old boy was seen walking along Eglinton Avenue West,
− the boy appeared distraught and crying,
− when officers arrived in the area, they were unable to locate the child,

The boy is described as white, blonde hair, wearing black rubber boots, blue windbreaker, red/blue knapsack and was wearing a black baseball cap backwards.

Further information reveals that the child was seen in the company of a man, at 8:30 a.m., on the corner of Castle Knock Road/Eglinton Avenue West. The man is described as white, 40-45, wearing a trench coat, glasses and carrying an umbrella. It appeared as though the man and the boy had an argument.

Anyone with information as to the identity and location of this boy is asked to contact Toronto Police.

UPDATE: The boy has been located.
