Six people arrested for the murder of Shadi Taleb

Officers from the Homicide Bureau have arrested several individuals with respect to a homicide that occurred on Full Moon Circle in January 2011.

On Monday, January 24, 2011, at approximately 10:36 p.m., police responded to a call at an address on Full Moon Circle. Upon arrival, officers found 17 year-old Shadi Taleb, with no vital signs and obvious signs of trauma. Taleb was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

A second victim, a 45 year-old female from Mississauga, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

On Wednesday, May 25, 2011, after an extensive investigation by the Homicide Bureau, six individuals were arrested in connection with this homicide. Several search warrants were also executed, with the assistance of the Toronto Police Service. The following individuals have been arrested and have been charged with Second Degree Murder:

· Shawn CARGIOLI, a 20 year-old resident of Toronto;
· Walid OMAR, an 18 year-old resident of Toronto;
· Kendall KAMAL, a 19 year-old resident of Toronto; and
· Famien Stephan MORRISON, a 23 year-old resident of Toronto.

All four suspects are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton, for a bail hearing on Thursday, May 26, 2011.

A warrant for the arrest of a fifth suspect, a 17 year-old male, has been issued. Due to the age of the suspect, the name cannot be released, as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

In addition, as a result of this investigation, two suspects have been arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Commit Robbery and Obstruct Police. Mathew SMITH, an 18 year-old resident of Mississauga, and Terrelle TURNEY a 19 year-old resident of Mississauga were both charged.
