Two arrested in downtown London shooting

Two males have been arrested after a shooting in downtown London.

On Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 2:26 a.m. the London Police Service responded to a complaint of gunshots in the area of Richmond Street and Central Avenue. Upon arrival they located a number of empty shell casings. Police were able to obtain a description of those involved and advised other police cruisers in the city of the suspect vehicle.

Police located the suspect vehicle in the area of Wellington Road and Commissioners Road where they arrested a 31-year-old male from Welland and a 22-year-old male from London.

Police also seized a loaded 9mm handgun.

There are no known injuries in this case.

Police are continuing their investigation into this shooting incident.
