Police arrest Windsor man with $100000 worth of pot

Windsor Police have charged a 33 year old Windsor man after seizing a large quantity of marihuana on the city’s west side last week. At 12:30 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2011, uniformed WPS officers received anonymous information that a suspect driving a gold coloured Lincoln would be delivering a large quantity of marihuana to a residence in the 1100 block of Wellington Rd. in the City of Windsor.

Uniformed officers attended the area in an attempt to locate the vehicle. At 12:50 a.m., uniformed officers observed a vehicle matching the description driving in the area. They watched the vehicle as it pulled up in front of a house in the 1100 block of Wellington Rd. The lone male driver exited the vehicle and proceeded to the trunk where he retrieved a large black "hockey bag" which appeared to be full. The officers converged on the suspect as he began walking toward the house and placed him under arrest without incident.

A subsequent search of the hockey bag revealed a large number of vacuum sealed bags containing cannabis marihuana. Further investigation revealed that the bag contained 9023 grams of marihuana equating to a street value of $90230.00.

Michael CLAIRMONT – 33 years of Windsor is facing a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
