An Edmonton man faces numerous charges in connection with an intensive investigation of alleged sexual assaults against children at a northend daycare that allegedly spanned over a decade.

The Montrose area daycare operated by Walter Nash and his wife had its license revoked in 2002, yet continued to operate as an unlicensed day home. Children in the couple’s care ranged in age from infants to preteens. Nash’s wife has not been charged in connection with this case.

Walter Edmund Nash, 60, has been charged with sexual assault x 4, sexual interference x 4, and invitation to sexual touching x 2.

In total, Nash faces 10 charges against four victims over the past 10 years. At the time of the alleged assaults, two of the victims were three-years-old, one was six-years-old, and one was seven-years-old. Nash is scheduled to appear in provincial court today, Tuesday, June 21st, 2011.
