Three charged in Ottawa home invasion

The Ottawa Police Service has laid charges in relation to a June 28, 2011 home invasion/robbery that occurred in the 3200 block of Southgate Road.

The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has charged 3 individuals in relation to this investigation. Charged are:

Souleiman MOHAMMAD, 19 years of age of Ottawa, is charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of forcible confinement, two counts of uttering threats, and a single count of unlawfully in a dwelling, possession of a weapon, and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. Mr. Mohammad remains in custody.

A 17 year old youth, also of Ottawa, was charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of forcible confinement, two counts of uttering threats, and a single count of unlawfully in a dwelling, possession of a weapon, and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence as well as breach of probation. The youth remains in custody.

A third person, Mohamed ADEN, 19 years of age of Ottawa, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime. Mr. Aden’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 20, 2011.

The investigation into this matter continues and an additional arrest is expected.
