Smithers RCMP have launched a missing persons investigation, after a visiting couple from England has failed to contact family or friends for a number of days.

British newlyweds Caroline and Ben Davies arrived in BC in early June to visit with family and explore parts of B.C. They borrowed a family members black pickup truck and headed up north (towards Alaska) to do some back country camping.

Both are experienced outdoorsmen, however they have not been in contact with their family since June 22, 2011 and that has raised concerns. Their last phone calls were made from Smithers and they mentioned that they were planning renting some kayaks and meet up with someone they recently met in the area. They were scheduled to return to Vancouver on July 4th and were reported missing on July 10th.

Caroline is described as 28 years old, 5 foot 3, 120 lbs, with brown shoulder length curly hair and brown eyes.

Ben is described as 37 years old, 5 foot 11, 210 lbs, athletic build and brown short hair.

The vehicle they were traveling in is a 2008 black Mazda B230 pickup truck with BC License Plate AL 6943. Their vehicle has a very unique and distinctive white camper canopy.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen Caroline and Ben or their vehicle to please call the Smithers RCMP at (250) 847-3233 immediately.
