Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with three recent commercial robberies in the Town of Markham.

On Thursday, June 2, 2011, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a male suspect armed with a knife entered the Tim Hortons, located at 6040 Highway 7 East. The suspect approached a cashier and made a demand for cash. The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot after taking a quantity of cash.

On Thursday, June 9, 2011, at approximately 5 p.m., a male suspect armed with a knife entered the Shoppers Drug Mart, located at 5762 Highway 7 East. The suspect approached the victim, a store employee, at the register and made a demand for cash. The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot after taking a quantity of cash.

On Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a male suspect armed with a knife entered the Shoppers Drug Mart, located at 1730 Bur Oak Avenue. The suspect approached a cashier and made a demand for cash. The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot after taking a quantity of cash.

No one was injured in these incidents.

On Monday, July 11, 2011, at approximately 6 p.m., Mr. Codi SUMSION was arrested without incident at a commercial premise on Copper Creek Drive in the Town of Markham.
