A 48-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle collision this afternoon in Clarington.

On Wednesday July 13, 2011, at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of Durham Regional Police Service were called to Mosport Raceway regarding a single motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.

The 48-year-old male attended Mosport Raceway for an “open track day”. At one point, he lost control of his motorcycle and sustained a serious head trauma. The male was transported to Lakeridge Health Bowmanville via ambulance but succumbed to his injuries prior to being transported to a trauma hospital.

The male’s identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit are currently investigating.
