Edmonton Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating an 85-year-old man who has not been seen since yesterday around 3:30 p.m. walked away from the Misericordia Hospital. It is believed that he went out for a cigarette and never returned.

Edward (Ed) Erich Diedrich is caucasian, 6’0”and 160 lbs and has white hair. He was last seen wearing a dark green cardigan sweater, dark pants and light coloured shoes. He is also using two crutches.

Diedrich was living Whitecourt, Alberta.

The Edmonton Police Service is concerned for the well-being of Diedrich as he has health issues and requires medication that he does not have with him.

If anyone has any information regarding Edward’s whereabouts, or if they recall seeing him last night or today, they are asked to contact the police at 780-423-4567.

UPDATE: Edward has been located
