A suspect wanted and charged in the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of another at 3400 Rosedale about 1:30 a.m. on July 3 is in custody.

The suspect, Nosakhere Robert Bundick (b/m, DOB: 3-21-92), turned himself in to Harris County authorities on Wednesday (July 13). Bundick is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 232nd State District Court in the killing of Rashad L. Minix, 20, of Houston and wounding of Ferunell Smith. Mr. Minix suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital. Smith, 19, suffered gunshot wounds and was transported to the same hospital. Doctors stated he is expected to survive his injuries.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Carrillo and Senior Police Officer H. Chavez reported:

Residents in the area of the above location heard gunshots and called police. HPD officers responded and found Mr. Smith suffering from gunshot wounds, but responsive. Further investigation led officers to locate Mr. Minix in the backyard of a home in the 3400 block of Rosedale.

It was learned that Smith and Minix were close friends. Evidence of a shooting was located on the streetin the 3400 block of Rosedale.

Further investigation and witness statements identified Bundick as the shooter in this case. He remains in custody in the Harris County Jail.
